Speakers Julie Nelson and Julie Storr

Julie Nelson has a particular passion for helping women to live their true vocation of women as created by God, which was ignited by the writings of Saint John Paul II. She describes herself as a women’s faith study junkie.  She is married to her high school sweetheart, Lynn, and has four children. Being the co-host of Catholic Women Now on Iowa Catholic Radio has continued to deepen her faith and fuel her passion for evangelization.  When off air, you will find Julie searching for new show topics on the internet, sewing, and spending time with her adventurous family.

Julie Storr has been passionate about the Catholic Faith since she joined the Church in 1999. She loves liturgy and the prayers of the Mass. Upon learning that she was a knower, she discovered that her heart’s desire is that all Christians will learn to hear the voice of God. The speaker, writer, teacher, and podcaster lives in Pocahontas with her husband, Patrick. They have two sons. In her spare time, Julie enjoys travel, reading and has just begun a dive into the book of Wisdom. She and her husband are looking forward to leading a Jubilee Year pilgrimage to Italy in November 2025.

“The hour is coming, in fact has come, when the vocation of women is being acknowledged in its fullness, the hour in which women acquire in the world an influence, an effect and a power never hitherto achieved. That is why, at his moment when the human race is undergoing so deep a transformation, women imbued with a spirit of the Gospel can do so much to aid humanity in not falling” -The Council’s Message to Women (December 8, 1965); AAS 58 (1966), 13-14.
